hello world

this is my first time to blog and because it is my first time to blog i am sharing with you the first oil painting i ever sold. it is called "rembranksy" and i did it as a tribute to a painter i like very much called banksy. seeing his work made me know it is okay to joke in a work of art. before this one i did a painting called "our national hero" and seeing paintings by banksy afterwards made me sure it had been alright to do such a painting as "our national hero" so this one is in honor of him.
it is oil on canvas.

    GREAT PAINTING!!
I usually do not like moshups or spoofs of classics but this one got me someway.
I hope you post "Our National HerO". I am curious to see what that is all about.

So the writing is on the wall and... it's a smiley face. Genius.

  3. I am a big fan of Banksy (a Bansky Boy?) and I think this is quite the excellent painting. I think that Banksy himself would approve.

Was there a reason you picked the smiley face. Is that supposed to be a commentary on the God-like power of pop culture and how anyone who "defaces the goblet of consumerism" will be destroyed. If so, I think it's better than Bansky.
